Being an engineering manager, transitioning into it. It’s all about systems. It’s everything I’ve done before, geeking out over dev tools, frameworks. It’s been a waste of time. It’s all just been technical masturbation. To really succeed in world engineering and manage engineering, it’s all about the systems, the bigger things, the hard problems, the strategy that makes the small things work. Big picture thinking is small details fitting in to the wider picture.
